A Miracle!

Hallelujah Helen!
Our Prime Minister has a road to Damascus experience, and now welcomes Christians into the godless, god forsaken Labour fold. How nice to share fellowship with atheists, sex perverts & baby-killers. Wonder if the Brethren are welcome? Apparently not. Our deputy PM describes them:
"a small, unrepresentative, intolerant, self confessed exclusive group bought themselves a political party and nearly captured a nation by stealth"
For a minute I thought he meant Labour's motley mob of feminists, queers, unionists, & academics, ushering in the second coming of communism. Helen's epiphany has reaffirmed a deep faith in the sanctity of marriage:
"Clark paid special tribute to her husband Peter Davis, saying he was the most special person in her life"
Does Judith Tizard know this? Have to laugh at the cheap, transparent, cynical appeal to Christian votes with this phoney new makeover: Helen as hausfrau, uber-kiwi wife, standing by her man. Next we'll see her baking fudge brownies, adopting African orphans, then a Woman's Day cover beaming how motherhood's transformed her life. Forget the pledge cards, Labour needs Tui billboards for their '08 campaign.

good news

Time to go
Latest Colmar Brunton poll shows PM Clark's popularity at a historic low.
Labour's party vote support, 36%, is its lowest rating since it took office in 1999
Heh. The beast herself falls to 33% in the prefered PM stakes.

* Disapproval of govt's performance: 51%
* Approval of govt's performance: 35%

My, those are cheering figures! Bad news is 6% of electorate would still vote for the Greens. Bet Helen's worried: is that a coup I can smell? Barbeque at Phil's? There's no other logical (or likeable) successor. Neither the lifeless, robotic Maharey (wimpiness personified) nor the combustible bully-boy Mallard fit the bill. What a fine day to be an evil right-wing blogger [or whatever it is that Helen calls us]. Joyful indeed.

ugghh!

Hone the Hypocrite
Just when you thought Keith Locke or Sue Bradford or [insert Labour/Green MP here] was the biggest boob in Parliament, along comes Hone Harawira. His latest embarrassing gaffe has him refusing to assist Maori in his electorate unless enrolled on the Maori roll. That is completely antithetical to both tikanga (customary practices) and to the tenets underlying his party's core philosophy. The kaupapa (broad principles) of The Maori Party are clearly spelled out on their website. They include:

1. Manaakitanga - Giving prestige to or elevating the prestige of individuals or organisations through the expression of affection, hospitality, generosity and mutual respect.

2. Whanaungatanga - Affirming the relationships that tangata whenua and other people have to each other individually or at whānau, hapū and iwi level through a common whakapapa and reciprocal obligations inherent in that relationship.

3. Mana Tupuna / Whakapapa - Defining Māori and others through links to their ancestors and heritage.

With respect to:

1. By ignoring Maori on the general roll, Hone diminishes their prestige. This cavalier dismissal is neither affectionate, hospitable, generous nor respectful.

2. In essence, Hone annuls genealogical relationships. In effect, he disavows whakapapa (ancestry) upon which Maori culture in its entirety is founded.

3. According to Hone, "Maori" are no longer defined through ancestry, common tradition or culture, or shared geography. Instead, "Maoriness" is predicated on one's choice of electoral roll.

In numerous places on TMP's website, much lip service is paid to 'inclusivity', 'community', 'relationship building' and other trite platitudes. But actions speak louder than words, and Hone's snubbing of some of his very own whanaunga (relatives) from the Northern tribes, proclaims his ignorance, arrogance and colossal phoniness. I'd call him a "big stupid twit" but that'd be redundant. The difference between Harawira and Locke or Bradford, is that occasionally the Green MPs make sense and their logic is fathomable.

Hate speech

Diabetes alert!
The NZHerald sends a lightweight, gum-chewing, hair-twirling vacuous 13 yr-old blond bimbo (well she writes like one, anyway) to interview the PM. Gushing lovestruck ninny dribbles the stickiest, sickliest, treacliest, most Mark Sainsbury-esque gush-fest about Helen Clark, the most CORRUPT [I'm not scared to say it, c'mon Rodney Hide, don't be shy!] Prime Minister in history. More empty calories than a pavlova bake-off, the NZH's Labour whitewash begins in earnest. I dare you to read it and not vomit. Should be compulsory text for all dieters and aspiring bulimics.

The natives are getting restless
The Maori Party does well in latest Marae Digipoll. Pita & Tariana are chuffed.
  • 52.6% of Maori roll support TMP
  • 36% support Labour
Oooh yeah! I like it when that happens! Compare that to election night '05 where Klark's Korrupt Kommies scored 80-plus % of the party vote in each of the Maori electorates. I'm no great fan of TMP ('brown' socialism), but their one redeeming factor is They're Not The Labour Party. Beasty-girl hates Tariana (& vice versa), so quite naturally Mrs Turia has my support and best wishes.

Haters & Wreckers Unite!
Way to go, the guy who released pictures of Helen's gay husband wildly, passionately, feverishly full-on hard-core French-kissing another bloke on the night Labour stole the election! The recipient of Mr Davis' enthusiastic probing tongue reckons that he's gay, but denies that Mr Helen Clark is. Oh, whatever, Queen! Either way, the photos have really got under Helen's scales skin, so... hey, works for me!
