happy happy

RIP 17, 531 New Zealanders (2005-2005)
The Kiwi abortion rate dropped 3.7% last year. The second consecutive annual decrease. Welcome news, but the number of 11-19 year olds having abortions has increased. Hope the Labour brightsparks come up with more than just a Hubba Bubba cartoon rapper if they're serious about stemming the rise of unwanted teen pregnancies.

When Wallabies Go Bad
Catfight! Talons unsheated,
David Campese goes into full scratch mode, loudly (he is an Ozzy, after all) demanding the nation's rugby captain be given the boot. Oh, my! Not very sporting, is it? No reply yet from the besieged Mr Gregan. Apparently Australia's only 2 test 'centurions' don't enjoy cordial relations. Oh well, on the bright side, it's always fabulous entertainment watching your enemies go hammer & tongs at each other.

Wrong. The abortion rate for 11-14 year olds went up from 0.7 to 0.8
The rate for 15-19 year-olds dropped from 25.6 to 24.9

Cheers, Lindsay. I never let facts and logic get in the way of a good rant :-)

Hi again, Lindsay. Not tryin' to pick a fight, but...

The International Life report (linked) says in it's 'Points of Concern':

8) The number of 15 to 19 year olds having induced abortions in 2005 has increased since 2004

And later in the summary:

"Any decrease in the number of abortions is cause for hope, but the simple fact remains that 15 to 19 yr olds are having more abortions than they were in 2004."

So... Hmmm...
