The end of blogging

My final post

All good things must come to an end, so I regret to inform you that this shall be my very last post on this blog.

My last serious post, that is (ya didn't think you could get rid of me that easily, did you? Hardly! I'm like a vermin infestation: pesky, revolting and hard to eliminate.) But I've been pondering: the NZ blogosphere is generally, imo, quite sober & serious. There are, of course, exceptions such as Mr J*ngles and Mrs Sm*th [names obscured to protect their anonymity]. And some bloggers, e.g. DPF and PC, manage to successfully combine both serious and fun posts.

But for me, having both light & heavy entries on the same blog is untenable. It's too jarring for readers to have, say, a silly light-hearted post preceded by an over-the-top vitriolic rant, followed by a whimiscal post, etc. The violent mood swings are too unsettling.

So, I've decided to create a New Blog for serious, furious, or contemplative thoughts. It'll likely be a lunatic whinge-fest consisting of sexist, racist, homophobic, islamophobic & other hate-speech diatribes (to annoy lefties), spiritual posts (to annoy atheists) and pro-Maori posts (to annoy everybody else). Oh, and perhaps a few thoughts on my great reverence for Western art & culture (to annoy Maoris). Yup, I think that's everyone covered :-)

So... you can either go to my new blog and be offended at my extremist views, or you can come here and be offended because I'm taking the mickey out of you and all the things you hold dear :-)

This blog will now become 100% fluff: TV reviews, parodies and neurotic diary entries - such as my unending despair that Michelle Rodriguez doesn't love me. So, for those of you who have been kind enough (or stupid enough) to blogroll me, now would be a good time to de-link this blog if frivolity aint your thang.
Also, I'll be transferring this blogroll over to the new site.

Both blogs will include liberal use of sarcasm, insults and derision. However complete immunity is granted to the following:

• President Bush, since (a) we're still at war, (b) he's still the Commander in Chief, and (c) I still support the good guys.
• Our fine men and women serving in the military.
• Our frontline cops who daily suffer a barrage of danger, hostility & mistreatment (and that's just from the NZ Press Association!)
• Uncle Sam - coz I like Americans. Always have, always will.
• Prime Minister John Howard - coz... coz... coz... just because! Ok!

As for everyone else - you're all potential targets of ridicule. Thin-skinned and easily offended? Then I suggest you surf elsewhere!
